A note on fibres…
Natural or synthetic? Each comes with its share of ethical and environmental baggage. Natural fibres (cotton, wool, leather, cashmere, silk) impact heavily on land, water and chemicals. Synthetic fibres (perhaps the best-know is polyester) are typically made from petroleum, a non-renewable resource, and require an energy intensive production process.
