SAAKA is a wonderful fusion between the dedicated craft of a Nigerien weaver, and the modern vision of contemporary designers (nigerien and portuguese). The product of this multicultural merger is a modernised version of the Sakala, a Nigerien traditional weaving technique and pattern, that embraces a design reflexion inspired by nigerien tribes traditional folklore together with portuguese Azulejos lines and colors. Established in 2017, SAAKA - “the act of weaving” in Hausa, is a sustainable concept motivated by an ambitious mindset. The label's mission is simple, to preserve and revive an ancestral weaving art. Each piece is unique, tells a story, and each color carries a meaning. SAAKA is all about expressing feelings in an impressive way.
